Finance is inherently a topic requiring lots of computation and in today's business world this computation is almost wholly carried out in Excel. Despite this, many books rely heavily on hand calculators, and business school students often find that when they leave the academic environment they have to relearn both finance and Excel. The Excel-based approach of Principles of Finance with Excel gives better tools to the instructor and the student and integrates the educational message with the most useful financial tool available.

Hardcover Verified download. The title is scary, but I think you'll especially appreciate this text if you're not that great at math. Good explanations of the "whys" in finance for managers. I knew this subject was coming up in my Project Management masters and also knew I wasn't ready for it!

Instead of a 6-week course at the local high school, I took an honest-to-goodness college course that used this book. When I got to my "real" class, I did much better than I would have without using this book as a primer.

Not knowing me, you have no idea how amazing this next statement is but: I got a "B" in my master's level course and I couldn't have done that without the great instructor I had and this text in the undergrad class. Thank God my professor allowed this book. Super cheap.

In prefect condition. Great book, with very good examples.

Some problems a little difficult to follow at times but this is not the kind of book you read for pleasure. You have to dedicate time to understanding each chapter before you began working on the problems.

It'll take you some 3 to 5 months to go through the whole book depending on the time you dedicate to it. I am using this book in my certificate program class in finance and have found the book quite understandable.

A lot of finance books get too much into the theory but this book is quite good at keeping it short and to the point without a lot of the random "finance" jargon.

This book is very organized and offers links to a Web page that provides wonderful templates and additional information to supplement the book.

This text is written in clear prose with examples that further enforce the concepts. NGOs have an operational, moral and legal duty to explain their decisions and actions, and submit their financial reports to scrutiny.

Transparency The organisation must be open about its work, making information about its activities and plans available to relevant stakeholders.

This includes preparing accurate, complete and timely financial reports and making them accessible to stakeholders, including beneficiaries. If an organisation is not transparent, then it may give the impression of having something to hide.

Integrity On a personal level, individuals in the organisation must operate with honesty and propriety. For example, managers and trustees should lead by example in following procedures and by declaring any personal interests that might conflict with their official duties.

The integrity of financial reports depends on the accuracy and completeness of financial records. This book integrates theory and practice to provide a high-value resource for anyone wanting to gain a practical understanding of this complex and nuanced topic.
